It all starts in the month of July, in the name of counselling. The top people who have worked hard in 12th std(in some cases, may be in most cases from 11th std) reaches MIT in the month of August. What do they do after joining MIT?
What do they do after joining MIT is a BIG Question Mark? Because, they don't know themselves. Each day, they will be running behind something.
Lets go back and see, what do they really do?
First day, 8am:
Hundreds of young mind will be walking on the single road. From nowhere, all of a sudden, they all arrive at the same place. If you give a thought about it, that nowhere is 'everywhere from tamilnadu'. I am not sure whether supercomputer can calculate that much, can process that much thoughts. Each process is unique in one way or the other. It is not as simple as addition, subtraction and multiplication to be easily executed by supercomputer.
(the author stresses the thoughts of all people, their problems. (some might be thinking abt family, some about
their Medical dream, some about IAS dream, and so on and so many.. )
9:00 am:The whole crowd would have been disappeared, they will be distributed in the name of batches.
What happens next will be a history, the history which is never read by the people involved in it, the history which is not written anywhere but in the deepest corner of their brains.
The worst part is , most people don't know that they should read that history(hidden in their brain). First semester would have been over before they realize. Results will be displayed on one fine day, the day where a new process begins in each and every individual minds. People start setting/deciding/destructing/constructing their ability at the end of the process. 9 pointers will be tagged as toppers. 7 pointers group themselves away.
(The author wants people to forsee this scenario, this is what is happening in MIT for the last six years, upto his knowledge)
The author wants to remind people that they are here in MIT, an institute of technology, to learn technology.
To learn Technology, how to do it?
Read, Read and Read.
(There is no short cut)
Read - read standard books
Read - do projects
Read - what else you can do to learn technology.

ReplyDeleteGud Start! Cheers up!!
ReplyDeleteJuns.. The same feeling I had while I was in my final year.. Felt bad seeing juniors making the same mistake, I did. My 1st sem was like a day to me now.. I have no idea what happened in those days.. Will talk daily in the hostel rooms.. Was a batch rep then!! Bit had attendance lag in my 1st semester itself!! ( Thank God there was no marks for attendance)Local Guardian every weekend.. light ah ragging!! Onnumae pannala!! got a decent 8.4.. Thought it was a gr8 score in College.. Thought tat s enuf!! Paatha Topper is 9.9 and I think I wont even have made top 20%.. 2nd Sem.. gr8 start.. Organised Interaction TOur successfully (unga makkal than sothapitaanga) Then had a gr8 interest in Electronics.. Got Onr big black boof(Famous book but forgot its name), Art of Electronics and Sedra. Participated in HOPE in E Focus 2006. Competed with 2nd and 3rd year students.. Bit got 1st.. I really had a passion for electronics.. Bit sadly my curriculum didn't support me!! PI mam taught me EDC. She followed one strange book which u wont get anywhere in any library or market. It was the book followed in MIT it seems!! She was very sincere, Bit I couldn't understood head or tails in it!! Antha photocopy paathale padikka thonaathu!! Gradually lost interest in Electronics and finally shifted my path.. I m not blaming anyone. Just sharing my experience...
ReplyDeleteI feel these are my faults..
1. Do not know why I took ECE. I wanted to do something big.. tat s all.. So opted for ECE just bcos it s preferred by many ppl!!
2. I should have put in more efforts.. Anyways no regrets now!!
3. Should have been more attentive in class (try pannaen.. anna mudiyala)
I used to ask this to all my juniors wen I meet them for the 1st time!! "WHY MIT?? WHY ECE??" I came to know most of the ppl made the same mistake as mine.. But no doubt they are best brains in TN!! If the are fed better, they can do wonders.. But in the 1st year like I was, they are directionless.. They do not know what to do.. And I feel basic subjects shd me handled my experienced staff.. They shd create interest in the. I feel the teachers in MIT fail to do it. Wen one cant understand EMF, he cant understand Wave guides, Antenna, RF etc. Same applies in all fields.
And I also feel tat the senior Junior interaction is not the same wen I was in MIT! I had a lot of seniors who helped in everything.. Starting from Hope Project, to organising interaction tour to IV to helping in placements and they used to guide me even now!! But I feel, even in my year, we are doing anything to juniors to the level our seniors did to us!! and I think my juniors also feeling the same and it is exponentially decreasing!!
Hope MIT ll be back to its golden days once again :)
Good one , Its the experience felt by every individual .
ReplyDeleteSo the message to the ppl is read and read before repenting later.
